PORTLAND, Ore. -- A breast cancer survivor is making care packages in her Portland home and sending them around the world to other women.

"Each one carries a tiny pair of pink boxing gloves," said Kara Dolce. "We want women facing any type of cancer to keep fighting."

The boxes also contain socks, scarves, bracelets and makeup.

Dolce established a nonprofit called "Fighting Pretty."

"We've sent 1,500 pink boxes out in the past few years," said Dolce. "People request one on our website and we ask for a $25 donation."

Ashley Bell, 26, of Beaverton received a Fighting Pretty box. She's being treated for brain cancer.

"The box makes me feel like I'm not  in this alone and that someone cares, and those pink gloves are a reminder to keep fighting and never give up," she said.
